Pj's encourages children to think for themselves and act independently by:
- Taking off and putting on their shoes.
- Tidying up the toys and resources they have been using.
- Independently taking themselves to the toilet and wash their hands.
- Helping to lay the table at mealtimes, serve the lunches & give out the drinks to each other.
- Taking their coats on and off, learning to manage the zip/buttons and to hang their coats up.
Co-operation
- Pj’s Pre-school Programme develops children’s skills to co-operate with others and take turns when playing. This develops children’s ability to be sensitive to the needs of their peers and will form more positive relationships with them.
Able to manage feelings and behavior
- Children learn to manage their feelings and talk about what is happening. Children who understand the need for appropriate behavior and who follow the rules will find it easier to settle into school routines.
