1. Partnership with Parents Policy - At Pj’s Childcare we believe that children benefit most from early years education and care when parents and settings work together in partnership.
2. Waiting List and Admissions Policy - At Pj’s Childcare it is our intention to make our setting accessible to children and families from the local community.
3. Key Person Policy – At Pj’s Childcare we aim for children to feel happy and secure developing a genuine bond with a key person who offers a settled, close relationship.
4. Settling-in Policy - At Pj’s Childcare we aim to make the setting a welcoming place where children settle quickly and easily because consideration has been given to the individual needs and circumstances of children and their families.
5. Arrival and Departure Policy - Pj’s Childcare is required to keep a daily record of the names of the children looked after on the premises, and their hours of attendance.
6. Non-collection of children Policy - At Pj’s Childcare in the event that a child is not collected by an authorised adult at the agreed time, the setting puts into practice agreed procedures.
7. Health and Safety Policy - At Pj’s Childcare we believe that the health and safety of children is of paramount importance. We make our setting a safe and healthy place for children, parents, practitioners and volunteers.
8. Food and Drink Policy - Pj’s Childcare regards snack and meal times as an important part of the setting’s day. Eating represents a social time for children and adults and helps children to learn about healthy eating.
9. Pet Policy - At Pj’s Childcare we believe that children can learn a lot from having contact with animals however certain procedures must be followed to ensure the safety of both the children and the animal.
10. Confidentiality Policy - At Pj’s Childcare it is our intention to respect the privacy of children and their parents and carers, while ensuring that they access high quality early years care and education in our setting.
11. Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures - At Pj’s Childcare we are committed to building a ‘culture of safety’ in which children are protected from abuse and harm.
12. Behaviour Policy - At Pj’s Childcare it is our intention for children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the setting and to feel secure and comfortable with us. We want parents to have confidence in both their children’s well being and their role as active partners with the setting.
13. Physical Handling Policy - This is not the preferred way of managing children’s behaviour. At Pj’s Childcare we only use restrictive physical intervention in extreme circumstances.
14. Inclusion Policy - Pj’s Childcare is committed to valuing diversity by providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children and families.
15. Special Educational Needs/Disability Policy - At Pj’s Childcare it is our intention to provide an environment in which all children are supported to reach their full potential.

Student placement, volunteers and temporary staff Policy - Pj’s Childcare recognises that qualifications and training make an important contribution to the quality of the care and education provided by early years settings. As part of our commitment to quality, we offer placements to students undertaking early years qualifications and training.
