Funding and Fees

PJ’s is set up to support working parents with their childcare arrangements and we can access all types of the government funded childcare support.

This includes the “30 hours” Working Parent entitlement for children from the term after they turn 9 months old, the 15 hours “Universal” entitlement for 3- and 4-year-olds, and Early Education for Two-Year-Olds (formerly known as FEET).

Most funding is subject to eligibility criteria set by HMRC and requires a parental application. We are happy to guide you through the process, but for initial information, the best resource is
 beststartinlife.gov.uk/

Funding Information

We believe that any eligible funding as provided by the government for children, e.g. Working parents or Universal funding, should be passed on in full to the parents towards their monthly invoices.

Should under 3 years not be eligible for funding for whatever reason, we can continue to assist, though our fee arrangements are different - please see below.

We tailor each fee arrangement to the parent’s individual requirements to reach agreement for hours that they need each week – we do not believe in Session Pricing or Full Day/Half Day fee arrangements as these rarely match with actual parental needs.

Like all childcare providers in Surrey, we receive the eligible Funding on a Termly basis (over the 3 Funded Terms totalling 38 Term Time weeks in the year).  However, we usually agree with parents to provide the Funding on a stretched basis – i.e. providing the eligible funding over the number of weeks that we are open in the year - as this assists with parents personal budgeting.

In addition to any direct eligible funding, Pj’s also accept payments via parents Tax Free Childcare accounts.  This can provide up to a 20% reduction to the invoice and is agreed by HMRC. More details can be found on the website www.beststartinlife.gov.uk which has a wealth of information for parents.

Fees Information

Here at Pj’s we undertake a review of our charging arrangements each summer, and these apply from 1st September each year through to 31st August the following year.

Fee Arrangements from 01/09/2026 to 31/08/2027

As from 1st September 2026 our usual fee for working parents eligible for funding for their child will be £8 per hour for any additional required hours that are not eligible for funding.

Where children under 3 are not eligible for funding, then our fee will be that as provided by Surrey County Council for funded children for the relevant age of the child. We can provide details as required.

The only additional Fee is a Flat fee of £3.25 per attended day to cover all meal costs.

Where applicable, parents are requested to provide their child with their own nappies and wipes, as these are a matter of personal choice.

Invoices are produced monthly and requested to be settled within 7 days of receipt. Full details and an individual indication of cost are provided on request by contacting us.
